True friendship

*What is true friendship? God affectionately defines this noble relationship for us today.*

While in this changing world you have a sore need of someone of your kind to whom you can communicate your feelings, share your discoveries, depressions, moments of bliss and sorrow. Someone who can be by your side while trekking the hard road to truth and peace, encouraging and enthusing you towards the goal. Friends who can confer real counsel, comfort and consolation are precious gifts, rarely found today. Friendship must bind two hearts and affect both beneficially, whatever may happen to either - loss or gain, pain or pleasure. Each must correct the other, for each knows that they come from sympathy and love. Each must be vigilant that the other does not slide from the ideal, cultivate habits that are deleterious, or hide thoughts and plans that are evil. The honour of each is in the safekeeping of the other. Each trusts the other and places reliance on the other's watchful love. Only those deserve the name ‘friends’, who help in uplifting life, cleansing ideals, elevating emotions and strengthening resolves.

Serve with pure heart

What are the prerequisites to offer seva?  God lovingly underscores this key aspect to us today.
The important qualification for seva (service) is a pure heart, uncontaminated by conceit, greed, envy, hatred or competition. Along with this, we need faith in God as the spring of vitality, virtue, and justice. Seva is the worship you offer to the God in the heart of everyone. Do not ask another which country or state you belong to, or which caste or creed you profess. See your favourite form of God in that ‘other person’; as a matter of fact, he or she is not ‘other’ at all - it is the Lord’s image, as much as you are. You are not helping ‘one individual’; you are adoring Me, in them. God is before you in that form; so, what room is there for the ego in you to raise its hood? Duty is God; Work is worship. Even the tiniest work is a flower placed at the Feet of God. Approach everyone you serve with a heart filled with the treasure of Love!

*Why do Hindus worship idols when God told us he is everywhere?*

Once Swami Vivekananda Ji visited King of Alwar in present day Rajasthan. The king in an attempt to mock idol worship told Swami Ji, "I've no faith in idol' worship. How can one worship stone, wood and metal? I believe that people are in illusion and just wasting time!".
Swami Ji smiled and ordered the king's assistant to take down the picture of the king that was hanging on the wall. Although confused, the assistant did so. Then Swami Ji ordered him, "Spit on the picture!". The assistant was shocked and looked at both of them. Swami Ji repeated again and again, becoming more stern each time. The king was growing angry and the assistant started trembling. Finally, he cried out, "How can I spit on this? This picture is of our beloved and respected king!".Swami Ji then told him, "The king is sitting in front of you in person. This picture is merely a piece of paper - it does not speak, hear, think or move. But still you did not spit because you see a shadow of your king in it, Spitting on it was like spitting on the king itself." The king looked at Swami Ji and bowed down, clearly understanding what he was referring to.This is the essence of idol worshiping. God is everywhere, but people want to pray to Him, ask favors, offer food, tell stories, bathe Him, play with Him and do what they do in their lives. Creating a human-like idol creates an image of God as a companion, a guide, a friend, a protector, a giver, a fellow being and so on. An idol is just a concrete representation where they find Him. When I look into the eyes of an idol, I do not see stone or metal, but another pair of eyes looking affectionately at me, smiling. This also means that we find our God near us each time.

True story of cooperation and support

जब एक छिपकली कर सकती है, तो हम क्यों नहीं?

[यह जापान में घटी, एक सच्ची घटना है।]

अपने मकान का नवीनीकरण करने के लिये, एक जापानी अपने मकान की दीवारों को तोड़ रहा था। जापान में लकड़ी की दीवारों के बीच ख़ाली जगह होती हैं, यानी दीवारें अंदर से पोली होती हैं।

जब वह लकड़ी की दीवारों को चीर-तोड़ रहा था, तभी उसने देखा कि दीवार के अंदर की तरफ लकड़ी पर एक छिपकली, बाहर से उसके पैर पर ठुकी कील के कारण, एक ही जगह पर जमी पड़ी है।

जब उसने यह दृश्य देखा तो उसे बहुत दया आई पर साथ ही वह जिज्ञासु भी हो गया। जब उसने आगे जाँच की तो पाया कि वह कील तो उसके मकान बनते समय पाँच साल पहले ठोंका गई थी!

एक छिपकली इस स्थिति में पाँच साल तक जीवित थी! दीवार के अँधेरे पार्टीशन के बीच, बिना हिले-डुले? यह अविश्वसनीय, असंभव और चौंका देने वाला था!

उसकी समझ से यह परे था कि एक छिपकली, जिसका एक पैर, एक ही स्थान पर पिछले पाँच साल से कील के कारण चिपका हुआ था और जो अपनी जगह से एक इंच भी न हिली थी, वह कैसे जीवित रह सकती है?

अब उसने यह देखने के लिये कि वह छिपकली अब तक क्या करती रही है और कैसे अपने भोजन की जरुरत को पूरा करती रही है, अपना काम रोक दिया।

थोड़ी ही देर बाद, पता नहीं कहाँ से, एक दूसरी छिपकली प्रकट हुई, वह अपने मुँह में भोजन दबाये हुये थी - उस फँसी हुई छिपकली को खिलाने के लिये! उफ़्फ़! वह सन्न रह गया! यह दृश्य उसके दिल को अंदर तक छू गया!

एक छिपकली, जिसका एक पैर कील से ठुका हुआ था, को, एक दूसरी छिपकली पिछले पाँच साल से भोजन खिला रही थी!

अद्भुत! दूसरी छिपकली ने अपने साथी के बचने की उम्मीद नहीं छोड़ी थी, वह पहली छिपकली को पिछले पाँच साल से भोजन करवा रही थी।

अजीब है, एक छोटा-सा जंतु तो यह कर सकता है, पर हम मनुष्य जैसे प्राणी, जिसे बुद्धि में सर्वश्रेष्ठ होने का आशीर्वाद मिला हुआ है, नहीं कर सकता!

कृपया अपने प्रिय लोगों को कभी न छोड़ें! लोगों को उनकी तकलीफ़ के समय अपनी पीठ न दिखायें! अपने आप को महाज्ञानी या सर्वश्रेष्ठ समझने की भूल न करें! आज आप सौभाग्यशाली हो सकते हैं पर कल तो अनिश्चित ही है और कल चीज़ें बदल भी सकती हैं!

आपकी एक छोटी-सी लापरवाही भी, आपके उस प्रिय का दिल तोड़ सकती है, जिसने तमाम अड़चनों और अवरोधों के बावजूद आपको चाहा था!

कुछ भी कहने से पहले, एक बार जरुर याद रखें कि-

कुछ भी बनाने के लिये पूरा जीवन भी लग सकता है पर उसे तोड़ने में एक पल भी नहीं लगता।

प्रकृति ने हमारी अंगुलियों के बीच शायद जगह भी इसीलिये दी है ताकि हम किसी दूसरे का हाथ थाम सकें!

आप आज किसी का साथ दीजिये, कल कोई-न-कोई दूसरा आपको साथ दे देगा!

एक-दूसरे को पसंद कीजिये!

Spirituality provides peace of mind

Being a civilized person , every one has to work for life and livelihood. Due to overload work and very business he becomes restless and  uncomfortable. He finds no way to come out from this situation. He wants to live comfortably but due to social pressure and career tension make him more aggressive and restless . How can a person comes out from such situation??? This is a very difficult question to answer.  Sprituality and faithfulness in God can make a life better. More expectations and lust full nature is the only reason of tension and fear. When person has  a bent of mind towards sprituality . He will spend his time with very easy and soothing way. Sprituality will give him a way to come out from tension full life. Positivity and spirituality give a soothing effect on everyone's life. Those people who live around you should have also same way of life as you want to live. While going to temple or any religious place will give us strength to face the challenges of life with firm and strong mind.
